The Orchid Mantis (Hymenopus coronatus) is one of nature's most elegant tricksters, disguising itself among blossoms with petal-shaped limbs and hypnotic stillness, a reminder that softness and strength often wear the same face. This ink is a light, fleshy pink leaning cool with the faintest blue undertone, and on good paper soft blue rivering lines emerge as it dries. A delicate silver shimmer flickers quietly across the surface. Exceptional shading potential for graceful writing and ethereal calligraphy. June 2025.
Try before you commit to a full bottle. Each sample is hand-decanted into a 4ml glass vial with a screw-top cap and a labelled colour name, so you can test the shading, sheen, and flow in your own pens on your own paper first.
This is a shimmer ink. Shake gently before each fill, and use it only in fountain pens that can be easily disassembled for cleaning. Dip pens and brushes are always a safe bet.
