Sheening Inks

Sheening inks offer a striking surprise: when the ink pools and dries, a contrasting color may appear across the surface of the original shade. The result can range from a subtle halo to a bold, almost metallic-looking finish—without shimmer particles.

Sheen is usually most visible with wet-writing pens, broader nibs, and smooth fountain pen-friendly paper that allows the ink to dry on the surface. Drying times may be longer, but the dramatic color payoff is worth the wait.
