King Crab draws on the formidable crustacean that prowls the cold northern seabed, carrying the weight of iron-rich shells and the saturated reds of Arctic marine life, tempered by its icy environment. The base is a deep crimson-rose that shifts toward wine in heavier applications. On Tomoe River a subtle green sheen gathers along pooled edges in organic outlines that echo a crab's segmented shell, glowing more vividly in direct sun. On Rhodia Dotgrid it reads richer and earthier with a velvety finish. Assertive yet refined.
Try before you commit to a full bottle. Each sample is hand-decanted into a 4ml glass vial with a screw-top cap and a labelled colour name, so you can test the shading, sheen, and flow in your own pens on your own paper first.
This is a shimmer ink. Shake gently before each fill, and use it only in fountain pens that can be easily disassembled for cleaning. Dip pens and brushes are always a safe bet.
