Canopus is a Japanese loose leaf paper from Yamamoto Paper, available in A4 format. Named after the second brightest star in the night sky, it is blank and unlined — designed for handwriting, journaling, and sketching, wherever a clean, open page is the right tool.
When Cosmo Air Light was discontinued, fountain pen users lost a trusted standard for ink-expressive writing. Yamamoto Paper spent three years developing Canopus in response: a micro-coated, high-bulk paper built to bring out the full range of ink shading and the shimmer of color inks. The coating controls absorption precisely, so ink sits on the surface long enough to reveal its character before setting cleanly.
Writing with a fountain pen on Canopus is smooth and resistance-free. Ink lays down with sharpness and dries without smearing. Shading and sheen come through clearly in angled light, adding depth to colors that would appear flat on ordinary paper. Bleed-through is minimal, keeping the reverse side clean and usable.
Sold two ways: set of 10 sheets or a pack of 50.
Each pack contains 50 sheets, punched and ready for standard ring binders and disc-binding systems. The paper's slightly warm white tone is easy on the eye and consistent across the stack. Whether you are testing new inks, writing daily, or filling a notebook, Canopus holds up to deliberate use.
